4 Awesome Tenerife Surf Camps For 2026
Tenerife is definitely one of the more surf-rich of the Canaries. We usually rate it as a better destination for intermediates and experts, on account of a very rugged north shore that’s got reefs and points in abundance.
But there’s also a good beginner surf-camp scene here, and it’s largely down to one town and one town alone: Playa de las Americas.
Those who know it might have winced a touch there. Yes, Playa is the tourist hub of the isle and it’s a no-holds-barred Brits abroad sorta’ place.
But it also happens to have access to a series of lovely beaches that are flanked by volcanic reefs and palm-dotted promenades. Those are where you’ll surf, on a series of spots that are great for all levels (El Medio, La Piscina, and others).
Tenerife also happens to be very accessible (it’s home to two airports) and affordable (it’s probably the cheapest of the isles). All that adds up to make it a pretty nice spot for surf camps, which is why there are now so many options on the menu.
Tempted? Thought so. Here’s a look at the Tenerife surf camps that we think deserve your hard-earned money this season…

Endless Summer Vibes

No list of the best Tenerife surf camps could miss out on Endless Summer Vibes. These guys have one of the most comprehensive offerings of camps on the island, and we even list them among the very best surf camps in the whole of the Canary Islands.
So they gotta be doing something right, right? Right.
Our personal pick would be their flagship fully-guided 8-day camp with group dinners included.
It’s one of their most action-packed itineraries and includes daily surfing each morning followed by plenty of free time to explore this wonderful island.
Room options range from very-value-for-money dorms to female-only dorms with ensuites. You’ll be staying in a pretty cool lodge in a residential quarter of the south, complete with its own rooftop terrace that really comes into its own when those sunset beers swing around.
The real reason this one scores highly is something else, though. Yes, the surf teaching is regular and great. Yes, the gear they use is new and workable. But there’s something money can’t buy: Good vibes.
They make a special effort to get groups hanging together, with a program of evening meals and BBQs and cold beers that you’ll be dreaming of for months to come.
A note on why we partner with BookSurfCamps.com: Book Surf Camps are probably the biggest online aggregator of surf camps and surf-yoga packages in the world. We sounded out a quite a few potential partners before we affiliated with them. But, in the end, the abundance of choice for beginners, intermediates, and female-only surfing sealed it. We also love the simplicity of their booking system and the trusted brand name, along with the focus on connecting with homegrown local businesses on the ground.
Dharmana’s Yoga & Surf

Remember when we said that almost all Tenerife surf camps are based in the morass of tourism that is Playa de las Americas? Well…scratch that. Here’s the exception that proves the rule, and boy is it a good one…
Located up in the rustic seaside town of Punta del Hidalgo in northern Tenerife, Dharmanas is a yoga surf retreat with real style. It’s all based around disconnecting with the Rat Race and reconnecting with a bit of inner Zen.
Days go something like this: Wake up early, healthy breakfast, 10am-2pm surfing in one of the local spots, a late afternoon Hatha or Yin toga session, then relaxation into the evening. Times that by six and you have a rough idea what your week’s looking like.
We also love that there are loads of inclusions here. All breakfasts and dinners are part of the price, as are return transfers from the Tenerife North Airport. The accomodation itself is also very, very nice. It’s like a boutique finca on the cliffs, less than 150m from the beach and oozing charm throughout its breezy deck spaces and white-painted double rooms.
The Point Surf Club

The Point is an interesting one. A registered not-for-profit that is all about supporting the local surf community on Tenerife, it came out of the dark days of the pandemic, when the founders realized there was dire need of a gathering spot for local business people, surfers, surf entrepreneurs and digital nomads who surf.
The result is this centrally located spot in the heart of Playa de las Americas. It boasts an on-site co-working space, a shared kitchen, nice chillout lounges with views of the ocean, and – importantly – walking access to the main surf and learner beaches on the island. Literally stroll across the road and bingo: There are the waves.
The package they offer shouldn’t break the bank at under $550 a pop, which is why we rate this as one of the most affordable surf packages on the isle. You also get a lot for your buck here: 5x surf classes (10 hours total), use of in-house boards and surf storage, and seven nights dorm accommodation.
Casa Grande Surf Hostel
Casa Grande Surf Hostel/HostelWorldThis is a slightly different offering to the fully packaged surf camps seen above. Instead of booking in for everything here – surf lessons, gear hire, and transport to the waves each day – you book just your accommodation and then plan all the rest once you arrive.
There’s a bonus to that. First, you’re not tied into surfing, you know just in case you wake up preferring a day’s lazing on the beach or hiking up Tiede. Second, it means you can watch the swell and surf when the good conditions come through. No pressure.
The guys at Casa Grande make it easy – just hit up reception and they’ll set you up with board rentals or full on surf teaching if required.
The stay itself is in the lovely little town of El Medano on the southeastern edge of the island. We like it as a base for surfing because it’s away from the big, sprawling (and, frankly, often tasteless) resorts of Playa de las Americas proper, but also has a decent surf beach on the doorstep (El Medano), which is great for beginners especially.
Rooms are basic dorms but the hostel has some nice communal spaces and a semi-outdoor rooftop that’s perfecto for hanging out at.
