5 Awesome Imsouane Surf Camps [2026]
Ah, Imsouane – the home of Africa’s most legendary right hander. The wave here is like something out of Queensland, only with a backdrop of wild desert hills and mini Atlas Mountains, camels and Moroccan tea shops.
It peels for up to 800 meters on the best days, offering by far the longest rides in Morocco, and some say the whole world.
You know what’s fricking awesome about it? This isn’t some high-performance bomb a la Snapper Rocks. The fabled Magic Bay of Morocco is mellow and super playful, with shoulders that section nicely into different bits for different levels of surfer.
Beginners can hang closer to the beach to pick up the shorebreaks. Pro loggers can catch green bumps to noseride all the way from the harbor wall to the sand. And shortboard improvers have nearly a kilometer of shoulder to spread out on and practice key turns.
Now if that sounds like the perfect place for surf camping, then that’s cos’ it is. It’s as if God sat down one day and was like, “oh, wait, Morocco needs a spot for chilled surf getaways that let you improve you skill level.” Viola, he made Imsouane.
There’s no shortage of seriously fantastic options in the town and the region today, some of which we rank among the finest surf camps in the country.

Dreamsea Surf Camp
Anyone who’s ever stayed at a Dreamsea camp will understand why this one sits nice and peachy at the top of our list of the best surf camps in Imsouane – and has remained there throughout 2025 and 2026.
These guys now have camps all over, from Bali to Nicaragua, Portugal to Spain. They’re masters at creating super-comfy, super-fun stays that also channel the local culture, giving you an experience that’s both international yet rooted in the place you are.
So it is with their camp at Imsouane. They’ve got a whole plot of land adjoining a local camping site that they’ve taken over and done out with their trademark boho-cool Dreamsea vibe.
IT IS AMAZING.
You can choose between whitewashed surf cabins with tiled patios and French doors or big belltents with luxury double beds. There are even converted boat rooms! They’re both a real escape to nature. Fling open your cabin door/tent flap and viola, you’ll see camel-dotted mountains and the wild waves of the Atlantic breaking just below.
The staff are a great bunch. They’re always happy to accommodate your needs and just feel happy to be surfing and chilling in Morocco, which brings a great feel to camps.
It’s our top all-round surf camp in Imsouane right now. Remember: It’s booking only- you book the stay then add on surf courses before by contacting them or when you arrive.
The Petite Surfer

The Petit Surfer is a great option for complete beginners, who often come to Imsouane over Taghazout because the waves here tend to be a bit easier going.
The reason we say that you should consider this one if you’re a complete starter is that they put a lot of focus on getting the technical aspects of surfing right before throwing you out there on your own. That’s done with good theory sessions and a guided 2-hour surf lesson each morning, before they let participants loose on freesurfing each afternoon.
The surf camp itself has a nice location in Imsouane town. It’s walking distance to the waves (as are most camps here) and it has one of the most wonderful breakfast rooms come solariums we’ve seen in Morocco – it’s a stun place to start the day with their trademark organic breakfast.
The package also includes a pickup in Agadir Airport if needed. Prices start at around $600 per person for the full week.
Clapo Surf Camp

You’ll get A LOT of high-quality surf teaching in a week if you pick the Clapo Surf Camp.
These guys have crafted what we’d say is one of the best no-frills, no-OTT surf camps around. the focus is on making surfing easy, accessible and less daunting with hands-on instruction and good quality teaching across a full seven days.
They have a really nice and homey lodge just back from the main bay in Imsouane – it’s literally under a minute’s walk to the wave. The whole place can host a maximum of 16 people, so there’s a good ratio of 8-1 students to tutors, plus you get that nice family style vibe throughout.
Prices start at just $500 for the whole week and that also includes 3x meals each day. And food is one of the USPs here – it’s really great. Prepared by local Moroccan chefs, you’ll eat spicy tagines and fresh fruit washed down with mint tea.
An all-round solid option.
Afer Surf Hostel
If you’re on a bit of a budget then the Afer Surf Hostel is a great pick.
They’ve got super-affordable dorm rooms for like $15, which are comfy and fantastically located and don’t compromise on style – they’re still done out like a proper Berber coast hotel with colorful fabrics and patterned rugs and the like.
All that tops out on a wonderful rooftop area where you can sit and chill while watching the sun set over the village and the ocean. There’s also a communal dining space where guests will gather to enjoy Moroccan breakfasts each morning.
Here, you’ll need to add on surf lessons and things once you arrive. That’s easy enough since they have partnerships with local instructors who are generally very good for beginners and intermediates.
The hostel also has a surf rack, a great addition for more advanced surfers who just want somewhere to store their board between free surfs.
The O Experience – Tayourt Lodge
Calling all lovers of luxury: The O Experience is what you’re after in Imsouane.
This bespoke surf lodge has pride of place right on the edge of the main point. The gorgeously uncluttered patios gaze right down onto the peeling waves that come into the main bay of the village. It’s mesmerizing.
The aesthetic is nothing short of eye-watering. It’s understated but elegant at every turn.
They’ve brought in elements of traditional Morocco through the driftwood cabanas and the adobe walls, but entwined it with luxuries – think hand-crafted seating and plush double beds and local soaps in each room.
The on-site O Surf Club is where you’ll go to get lessons and guided surf classes. They offer highly-focused individualised training that might be pricy but is some of the best in town.
The hotel also has the single finest rental quiver in Imsouane. We’re talking a whole tagine’s worth of Album Surfboards from 5’5 fish to logs.
